Row to Shore | Prompt #57

boatman

This was his favorite time of morning, the world just waking up from a night’s slumber. Gazing at the dark sea beneath him, he had no one behind him and nothing ahead of him, he was quite alone in every sense.

To slip into the dark, cold waters would be easy, but why treat yourself so harshly? He could just let go and no one would notice but why punish yourself for surviving this long?

He sat down and thought for a minute, there has to be something more to life, but instead of waiting every day, in this boat, for it to come to him… He would row to shore and go search for it.
